Each week you'll learn sequences that include all iconic Charleston steps and finishes with a bouncy routine that'll make your feet swivel, your chest shimmy and your belly laugh :) This dance style will lift your mood and turn you into a dancer!

We progressively build a routine for approximately 4/5 weeks.

This is a welcoming , open level class level .The class always structures in time to practice swivel technique in your basic step so if you new to Charleston please don’t worry !

Charleston Open Level Dance Class : 4 Week Block Saver 

Kindly funded by Lingen Davies Cancer Support , I Can Dance classes offer you the chance to access an uplifting dance experience in Oswestry. \
You will be part of a group full of like-minded people - who will all get to feel the physical and mental benefits of dancing :)

The sessions are very light-hearted and relaxed and you will find the choreography easy to pick up and a joy to dance 😊

These fun and friendly classes run over 8 weeks, giving you the chance to try out a variety of dance styles — including Charleston, Disco, Bhangra and Line Dancing! Each style is enjoyed for two weeks at a time, so you can really get a feel for it before moving on to the next one.

Sessions are open to complete beginners as well as those with some dance experience — all levels are very welcome. The focus is on getting active in an enjoyable way, with a moderate pace that may get your heart beating a little faster and your smile shining a little brighter ✨

Classes are open to anyone with a cancer diagnosis, at any stage of their journey. As with starting any new exercise programme, please do check with your medical professional if you’re unsure whether this is right for you.I look forward to dancing with you…

During each session you 'll learn 90's inspired dance routines to tunes from the likes Mc Hammer, Young Mc and Fat Boy Slim-

Do the 'Reebok', 'Running Man' ,'Bart Simpson' and 'Alf' ! Choreographic style is influenced by 90's dance trends, namely hip hop and commercial dance and will get your heart rate going and body buzzing! In this friendly beginners workshop, you’ll:

**"Do I need to come with a partner?"**\
No, you can couple up with others coming on their own .This is a relaxed and all inclusive session, enabling you to make enjoy learning a partner dance without it feeling intimidating.

**"Should I have danced before?**" - No, not necessary. This is beginner level class and the steps are broken down into manageable junks, so it is fun and also good exercise.

**Do I need to dress Vintage** - You can if you want to, it is entirely up to you! Importantly just wear something you feel comfortable and that you can move in.

**Recommended footwear :** Flat shoes or a v small heel. Ideally soft smooth soles- nothing too grippy. Pumps are ideal.

The session was good and I found the different sections did come together in the end however, I did think we were still learning when the session suddenly ended; it would've been good to end with a loud musical tune to do our complete routine to feel like I'd achieved something and as a proper fin-Olè   ;)

I really enjoyed the Flamenco Workshop and hope there'll be many more. Everything was explained and demonstrated well. I loved learning the steps/beats  and especially liked doing the beautiful arm and hand movements. Highly recommend!

She’s a fantastic teacher with an engaging personality and a very clear teaching style, giving instructions that are easy to follow. She broke the moves down in such a way that meant we were able to progress quite quickly and perform a routine. She interspersed dance instructions with some background history and also reasons for certain types of moves which gave us a better understanding of flamenco.
It was a bonus having a live guitarist.
