I Can Dance classes are  fun and social ! They offer you the chance to be part of a weekly group full of like-minded people  - who all enjoy feeling the benefits of dancing :)   

The classes run in 4 week blocks during which you will learn a particular style of dance. 
In our first 4 week block you will learn how to 'do' the Charleston ! Following  on from Charleston you can have a go a 'twisting the lightbulb' in our Bollywood sessions!  

The sessions are light-hearted and relaxed and you will find the choreography easy to pick up and a joy to dance 😊 

They are open to complete beginners and those with some dance experience - all levels of dancer are welcome here. While the classes aim to increase activeness expect a moderate pace of exercise - this means that your heart will beat a little faster as well as shine a little brighter!

 Classes are open to anyone with a cancer diagnosis, whatever stage of your journey. As with any new exercise programme, please ensure that you have consulted with your medical professional if you are unsure about whether you are well enough to participate. 

**Block 1 : Charleston Dance (4 sessions)**
Dance your way back to the roaring 20's and master the steps of the ever-popular Charleston! Dancing the Charleston is all about having fun, letting go and showing character. Expect to swing your arms, swivel your feet, slap your bottom, kick, flick and shimmy! It is without wonder that the Charleston was THE dance craze of the 1920’s.  

During your 4 Charleston classes you'll have a go at learning a repertoire of classic 20's Charleston steps  - all of which are easy to pick up.....
You'll learn the basic Charleston step: 'Jay Bird' and have a go at trying to 'Swivel' your feet during your basic step.
You'll master a joyous, bouncy routine over the 4 weeks that links your newfound moves together :)

During the 4 sessions of each dance style, we will progressively build a routine from which you will feel the pleasure and satisfaction of mastering a piece of choreography.

Another success from I Can Dance. Although the music is after my time, it is very lively with dance moves that were hitherto unknown to me but that are very enjoyable to learn. Since adding the 90's to my other I Can Dance classes, my fitness age has dropped into the 20's. Although I've always been active, I've never been fitter. I wish I'd discovered dancing sooner.
